History- Built in 1909 by a family who owned surrounding orchards, this house had from the 1930's until recently hosted weddings. In fact, many long time locals have fond memories of attending these happy events. During 2010 - 2011, in order to start hosting overnight guests we undertook an extensive restoration, meticulously going through and saving what was wonderful while improving what needed work. The result is the perfect blend of the warmth of a grand historic house with a modern sense of comfortable beds, clean atmosphere, amazing bathrooms and fast wi-fi.

Rooms- Our five guest rooms are all have new windows, insulated walls and carpeting. Each room also has it's own heating & a/c controls. Though we do not service guest rooms while you are checked in should anything need attention just let us know and we'll be happy to take care of it. Simple yet attentive.....

Bathrooms- All of our guest rooms have attached private bathrooms that have recently been completely rebuilt, keeping in mind the charm of yesterday with the cleanliness and water pressure expected today. Each bathroom (except studio) has: restored period sink, clawfoot soaking tub with both a stand up showerhead as well as a hand held 'telephone' showerhead. The 3rd floor suite also has a deluxe 2 person modern shower, visit our rooms page for pictures. Shampoo, soap, towels, washcloths, robes and a hair dryer are included.

Minimum age for children to stay is 6 years old.

Cancellations- Rooms canceled within a week of their date will be billed to your credit card unless they are re-booked, in which case there is no charge. There are no charges for rooms canceled outside of a week's notice.

7+ Nights- Stays of a week or more require a $100 non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is charged 30 days prior to arrival, at which point canceled nights are not refundable unless re-booked. A mid week cleaning and laundry change will be arranged and we are happy to provide further room attention if requested. November thru April stays of 7+ nights receive a 10% discount.

2nd Bed- Upon request we can have a twin mattress brought into your room and set up, please arrange with us ahead of your arrival.

Holidays- We are open everyday. However, certain holidays you need to check-in beforehand & check-out afterwards: July 4th, Thanksgiving & Christmas. This is known as a stay-thru.

Groups- Sorry but we do not accept group reservations - we recommend searching online for vacation rentals for this. We ask, too, that you not try to get around this by booking rooms separately.

Weddings/Events- Apologies but due to city code we are unable to host weddings or events here.

Check-in- Rooms are ready by 2 pm, though early and late arrivals are not a problem. Room check-out is by 11am, we can store your luggage for the day and you are welcome to relax in the social rooms for the afternoon.

The Continental Breakfast is ready when you are, no having to work with our schedule! What is offered: strong coffee, tea, juice & hot chocolate for beverages; bagels & bread with an assortment of spreads; muffins, scones & fruit for quick picking; a selection of cereals; instant pancake mix and oatmeal for hot alternatives. If you are so inclined there are a few great cafes in the neighborhood that serve up choice breakfasts, like Broder Cafe @ Clinton & 26th.

Kitchen- We have an equipped kitchen that you are welcome to cook in & store groceries. We ask that you leave the space clean when you are finished.

Complimentary Communications- High speed wi-fi throughout, a guest internet computer and a guest phone with local & long distance calling. Or perhaps crack open a book from the shelves.

Laundry- Complimentary laundry machines and an iron are available in the basement.

Parking is complimentary and in our private parking lot, accessible by the driveway on Clinton Street. Bicycle parking is available in the basement via a back door.

Locale- We are a 10 - 15 minute drive to downtown and City Bus 75 stops 1/4 block away from us. Convenient to Reed and Hawthorne, Division / Clinton is a lovely neighborhood to walk & bicycle around in - lots of shops, cafes, restaurants, friendly people and beautiful architecture.
